Concept

When a hobbyist climber and AI hacker is about to discover AGI that will end humanity, a Safeguard robot is sent back in time to stop him from uploading it to the internet.

Thematic inspirations focus on duality including creator vs destroyer, human vs machine, past vs future, good vs evil, life vs death.

Safeguard was shot over a 4-day sprint by solo filmmaker Gunnar Autterson. Production included late night shoots, multiple vehicle issues, weather delays, and logistical challenges—all held together by obsessive pre-production planning and creative vision.
